Who wrote the Bible ?

God the Holy Spirit is the author of the Bible. God used the agency of holy men to communicate His thoughts accurately in writing.   For Prophesy never came by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved ( inspired)  by the Holy Spirit.    2 Peter 1 : 21

How was the bible as the Word of God written by men?

The bible is the Word of God because the words those writers wrote, were inspired by God. Inspiration  (Greek Theopneustos) means God-breathed. This is the specific influence of the Holy Spirit in the lives of holy men which enables them to make an infallible record of divine truth revealing God’s will for mankind.  Every sentence, word and line was placed on the original parchment in complete agreement with the will of God.   All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness    2 Tim 3:16.
The bible was written by 40 different men over 1 500 years and yet is in no way inconsistent or contradictory.  All 66 books complement one another in the progressive unfolding of divine revelation by one author : God.

Importance of Bible Study

Bible Study is an essential part of a believer’s life as it provides spiritual food and nourishment to our spiritual man  which in turn ensures our spiritual life remains strong and healthy. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”  Matthew 4:4
Provides instruction and guidance in a sin sick and darkened world. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”.  Psalm 119:105
It uncovers and reveals sin deep in man’s heart in respect of attitudes and motives  “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts (attitudes) and intents of the heart (motives)”.     Hebrews 4:12
It sanctifies, the truth of Gods word and sets us apart unto His will and purpose  “ Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth”John 17:17
